Party Time [finally]

Lately it seems my eye has only existed behind the lends, but last night I was finally relieved from my position.  And what would life be if it was all work and no play.  I haven't had much of this with my nonstop workaholic lifestyle.  So needless to say, it was AWESOME!

When I get bored I COLOR!

Just a few of my most recent artwork with the exception of the clock one which I just dug of a drawer (it's from '06)!  I've been watering down my acrylics mutating them into watercolor just for the heck of it and i kinda like it.

Logo Madness

My head is spinning with ideas for the logo of my upcoming jewelry line.  HOWEVER I can't make up my mind.  I've been feverishly playing with my acrylic paints and black markers in hopes to design the ideal logo.  The roots of my line are basically like this... it's an eclectic combination of elegance and raw metal. Just imagine a tiny bejeweled gypsy rummaging through an old garage filled with weird trinkets, rusty old nuts and bolts, and shiny glass bottles.  Her little fingers hide under masses of chunky dark rings with shiny gems as she nervously twists at one of the many string of pearls that dangle from her neck while exploring through the garage in her fringie moccasins.  My line is a mad clash of art deco, vintage, American Indian, and elegance all shamboed into one glamorous motif.  Okay enough of that.  These are my logo contenders..

In Regards To My Absence

It has been a while, I know. But that is going to end, and I'm going to have lots of new material for your viewing pleasure real soon!

The last few weeks have been hectic! Within the last month I finally finished up my semester of art and ballet classes at LACC, I've started a new job working at an amazing industrial inspired furniture showroom/store called Sonrisa (more about that later!), and I've been feverishly working on my own new jewelry line which I will hopefully launch here in the next month (also more to come)!!

Into the City

A fabulous find & a little elbow grease

A couple of weeks ago I stumbled upon a cute little gem at Out of the Closet.  This old dark brown sewing table.  The finish was pretty worn and scratched up, which I some times prefer, but I thought this baby had some real potential if it was all cleaned up.  So I gave it a face life.

It was a bit of work, but I had such a blast busting out my power sander, and then staining and varnishing this baby.  Here some photos of the work in progress.  It didn't take long, only two and a half days!

& tuh duh!! I'm absolutely crazy about my little find.
